Itinerary 2 days in Umbria Underground
day 1
Departure from Rome (Stazione Termini or Fiumicino airport) – transfer to Narni, amazing town, half medieval and half old Roman, with arrival at around 10.30 am.
Guided tour of the underground city within the complex of San Domenico, including a XIII century cave church (discovered only in 1979), a Roman cistern and the charming room (of torment) where interrogations of the Holy Inquisition took place.
Free walk through the city center.
Lunch in a typical “trattoria” and then transfer to the hotel in Perugia.
Accommodation in the rooms, able to visit freely the old town, dinner.
day 2
Breakfast. Transfer to Orvieto.
Guided tour of the Cathedral, sure the most authentic Gothic building in Italy, seeing the frescoes that have recently been restored. Lunch.
Guided tour of the underground city.
Return to Rome.
